Interior Design

Design concept development for new builds and custom homes

Design Process

1. Design Direction

Our lead interior designer, Carmela will have a chat with you to discuss your project goals and requirements and provide you with a fee proposal.

We present you with a clear design direction through concept boards, mood boards, and sketches of the design proposal.

2. Concept Design

Once we present the initial design and you are happy with the overall direction, we will develop this further.

This involves exploring details with floor plan layouts, joinery design, furniture layouts, material and colour selection, and much more.

3. Design Development

We revise any changes required and refining the concept design sketches with greater detail based on the feedback we received in the concept design.

In this stage the material and finishes will be considered in more detail, preliminary joinery drawings will be developed, and we will review the project budget.

4. Documentation

We create a construction documentation package that is crucial for your builders and trades during the construction; both in providing accurate costing, and throughout the build itself.

This documentation package covers both interior fit-out and decoration.

5. Design Management

In this stage, Decura Interior Design will liaise on site to answer queries from the builders, regularly communicating with architects, project managers, architect's, and undertaking quality checks and defects inspections on site.

6. Project Handover

We handover the final documents for the completion of your project and brief you on any additional information that may be useful to trasitioning smoothly into your new home.

We suggest you have a realistic budget before engaging with an interior designer as this is the key to a successful outcome.
